30 years of making green onions

Tsukuba Sawayaka Farm ships green onions throughout the year. We have been growing green onions for over 30 years in the area around Tsukuba City, Ibaraki Prefecture. We are a farmer specializing in green onions that can be shipped year-round using techniques unique to certified farmers. Tsukuba City, located in the south of Ibaraki Prefecture, has fertile land in the Kanto loam layer, making it suitable for growing agricultural products. These green onions are grown in the soil of Tsukuba’s Inashiki Plateau and the harsh Tsukuba grated process. The annual yield was over 500 tons in 2019. Using chicken manure compost and sorghum as green manure on our vast farmland, we are able to supply green onions with a delicious flavor and soft texture all year round. We ship in sizes that meet your needs, and we deliver them to restaurants, processed products for commercial use, and to individual households.

Our farm’s green onions were selected as a certified product in 2019 in the 9th “Cooking Kingdom 100 Selection”. The entries were judged with the strict eyes and tastes of 22 food professionals, including top chefs and buyers. thank you very much.

Certified as an Ibaraki Prefecture Eco Farmer.

Eco-farmers are defined as “introducing highly sustainable agricultural production methods” based on Article 4 of the “Act on Promotion of Introduction of Sustainable Agricultural Production Methods (Sustainable Agriculture Act)” enacted in July 1999. This is the nickname of a farmer who has submitted an introduction plan to the prefectural governor and has received certification that the introduction plan is appropriate. Based on Article 4, the content is to work on all three technologies to reduce the use of soil preparation using compost, chemical fertilizers, and synthetic chemical pesticides. We would like to continue to aim for safe, secure, and environmentally friendly agriculture.
